| 科目の概要 |

| In this course students will learn a variety of idiomatic phrases, slang and informal expressions now current in American English. With the new expressions students will be able to confidently handle, many situations in daily life in English speaking countries such as:
＊Expressing surprise or disbelief ＊Showing uncertainty or hesitation ＊Giving advice or encouragement ＊Discussing past or future events The text’s setting is Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, the American sister city of Sapporo, where Yoshie Karasawa is an exchange student. Through Yoshie's experiences and adventures students will see how the new expressions are used in American life. The text will give students a chance to use the expressions actively and to get reading writing, listening and speaking practice. There will be a review and a test. |
